Freya in the Moonlight ("Freya")

2023 registered Half Gypsy mare (Quarter Horse × Gypsy Vanner)
Expected mature height: approximately 14 hh (not expected to exceed 14.3 hh).

Freya is a sweet, willing young mare with a fantastic work ethic. She is always the first one waiting at the gate, eager to come with you, and learns quickly. Her unique markings, distinctive birthmark, and beautiful feathering typical of the Gypsy breed make her a truly flashy young prospect. She is sired by Two Man in the Moon, with respected Gypsy Vanner bloodlines including Lloyds of London and Lake Ridge British Sterling.

Freya began her training journey last year with light foundation work before being started under saddle in May. She has been handled almost daily since she was a yearling, giving her over two years of preparation before beginning her ridden career.

She is easy to catch, saddle, and bridle. Freya has been lightly started. She walks, trots, and lopes, backs up, stops, and is beginning to respond to leg and seat aids while developing softness in the bridle. Freya is a nice-moving mare with more "go" than "whoa." She has been ridden in both an outdoor arena and through the hills, has been hauled to an indoor arena, ground driven along range roads, and even ridden bareback.
She has also been exposed to a variety of obstacles, has tracked objects, and has stood quietly while roping a dummy from her back. She rides well alone or with other horses. Considering her age, her education has focused on producing a confident, versatile young horse rather than simply adding miles under saddle. With a solid foundation already in place, she is ready for her next owner to continue her education in the discipline of their choice.

Freya is naturally curious and inquisitive rather than overly spooky. She approaches new situations with confidence and a willingness to learn. She has shown no buck, bolt, rear, or kicking behaviours.

Because of her age and level of training we feel she would be best suited to an intermediate or experienced rider looking for a young horse with a solid foundation to finish in the discipline of their choice.

The only reason Freya is available is because she is ready for her next chapter. She thrives on learning and enjoys having a purpose, and with several young horses currently in our program, we cannot give her the consistency she deserves. A working home is a must.
