Deceitful is 14hh, well-broke coming 7-year-old grade Quarter Horse gelding with a strong, stocky build, good conformation, solid bone, and a masculine, eye-catching head.

He is by Smoken Leo Jet, carrying foundation Quarter Horse lines including Leo and Jet Deck, known for versatility, soundness, and cow sense, and out of a grade Quarter Horse mare.

Born and raised on the same ranch, Deceitful has remained in the same family since birth and has been exposed to a variety of real-world situations, including machinery, dogs, and general ranch life. Ridden in the field and indoor arena, he has also been used to round up cattle. He spent 6 months in professional training between 2023 and 2024 and is ridden regularly by riders of all levels. Comfortable at the walk, trot, and lope, he is easy to catch, stands well for the farrier, soft in the poll, easy to bridle and saddle, and loads and hauls well. He rides confidently out alone or with other horses and has no known vices. No known health or soundness issues.

After the winter off, Deceitful is back under saddle for a tune-up and currently working cattle on a ranch. He’s an honest gelding with a solid mind, plenty of try, and a willing attitude. The kind that wants to work with you and gets the job done.

Best suited for a confident beginner with guidance, or an intermediate rider and above, he would make a reliable ranch, roping, or all-around working partner.
